I'm sure the answer to this query is in the forum but haven't been able to find an exact match so...A mucky but essential job that should be done regularly.This video shows how to remove the chrome cover and the plastic basket hair catcher and clean out.
Putting in a shower room. Shallow resin tray that's come with a 90mm waste that presumably will cope with the flow from a power shower. Tray sat flat on the existing floor leaves the waste outlet point roughly 40mm below floorboard level - the waste outlet is horizontal to the floor. I'm running to an outside wall only 1.2m away so plenty of fall but what about a trap? The shallow 'shower traps' are the right size but all come with vertical inlet at one end and horizontal outlet at the other whereas I want horizontal at both ends.Am I missing something here or have I got to raise the shower tray sufficiently to cobble something together to create an 'in-line' trap??

The only one I could find that day was at Toolstation. It is fitted now and working. However, it is of poor quality no 'key' supplied to tighten it up. It was a challenge to fit and make water tight. Wouldn't through choice buy again... Motto: You get what you pay for. But under the circumstances needs must and it did do the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mel g from No cleaning insert, very wide baseI bought 2 of these but unfortunately due to their bulky 110mm base diameter, I was unable to use them because joists were in the way, went for a slimmer 80mm diameter alternative ref;STW10-R with an 80mm deep water seal and re, with have a removable cleaning insert which the first ones' didn't have. The - R stands for Resealing which removes the need for any Air Admittance valves to counter any vacuum failure of water seal. Cannot comment on reliability etc as yet to fit and use.
